About Offworld Industries:

Offworld Industries Ltd. (OWI) is the independent studio behind the successful military first-person shooter game, “Squad”. OWI was formed in 2014 by more than 15 developers who had worked together on the well known Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2. The founding purpose of the team was to bring a standalone successor of this acclaimed mod to market and build a game development studio and a livelihood from that foundation.

Fast forward to 2023, OWI has nearly 120 employees and is rapidly growing. We have been expanding the studio into serving as a publisher supporting mods and have just announced our upcoming title “Starship Troopers: Extermination”, a 12-player PvE first-person shooter based on the 1997 cult-classic film.

We are looking for a talented Product Marketing Manager for our current and upcoming Unreal Engine based multiplayer games. About the role:

OWI is seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager to help drive  go-to-market planning for studio products on PC store platforms alongside the greater Marketing and Communications and development teams. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing Communications, the Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for many aspects of Offworld’s marketing strategies including store page management and end-to-end ownership of key marketing campaigns. In particular, this role champions dynamic video assets that tell powerful product-focused stories to support ongoing marketing campaigns.

A successful candidate will bring a strong background in copywriting, strategic marketing planning, asset conception, and process pipeline management as well as an understanding of connecting PR, Social Media, and Community disciplines. An understanding of video production, art asset pipelines, image manipulation, PR, and industry events is also strongly desired.

As part of this role, the Product Marketing Manager will work closely with external PR, video creation, advertising, and influencer marketing agencies to execute set strategies surrounding key product milestones for each of our titles.

 

Job Duties:

  • Write creative briefs for internal or external agencies to ensure all teams produce best in class creative which is consistent across all channels and resonates with consumers
  • Define and help direct the creation of promotional tools for our games, including videos, gifs, web assets, screenshots, descriptions and visuals
  • Manage asset requests from external vendors, internal partners, and oversee the asset pipeline
  • Assist in the development of launch campaigns for new content
  • Partner with Senior Product Marketing Manager to establish brand identity for products
  • Develop, propose email marketing campaigns
  • Set up and maintenance of Steam Store pages
  • Identify key messages and positioning for OWI products that attract the right players to our games
  • Manage key order requests for third party retailers and internal teams, as well as sales approval requests
  • Assist in overseeing marketing-related vendor relationships, especially vendors that handle social media advertising campaigns and video production
  • Analyze marketing campaign results, identify areas of improvement and take action on insights
  • Review PR campaigns and press releases as developed by our vendors, as well as contribute to the creation of these materials
  • Assist in preparing OWI teams for promotional events, with the potential for both online and in-person events. Assist with providing staff with media training
  • Provide competitive market research and analysis where needed
  • Help raise the profile of Offworld as a studio
  • Other marketing related tasks as they may come up
  • Work with vendors to develop strong content creator campaigns to support significant product beats
  • Support the Senior Manager of Marketing Communications in identifying and pursuing strategic cross promotional activities

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in video game or digital entertainment marketing with a track record of success and results
  • A creative mind that will bring fresh new ideas to help support our products and our team
  • Experience with working on licensed products
  • Understanding of operating live games as a service
  • Strong team collaborator, is an inspiring champion of new ideas
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • A strong self-sufficient work ethic with proven integrity
  • 3+ years of digital marketing experience with a focus on user growth and retention
  • Effective presentation skills with both visual aids and spoken presentations
  • Ability to conduct assessment of data-driven ROI
